NOTE:
The indicator comes on when the reprogramming fails.
Do the reprogramming of the EPS control unit again.

Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function.

Does the EPS indicator blink?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
     
NO

Fuse check 1:

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Check the following fuse.

Is the fuse OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. A2-1 (70A) fuse circuit.?

The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 6.

Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then to the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. B34 (10 A) fuse circuit.?

Open wire check (IG1 VSA/ABS line):

Open wire check (IG1 VSA/ABS line)

Disconnect the following connector.
EPS control unit connector B (6P)

?2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?3.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle ON mode
 
EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
Test point 1
EPS control unit connector B (6P) No. 5
Test point 2
Body ground

Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
The IG1 VSA/ABS wire is OK. Go to step 7.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the EPS motor/control unit and the No. B34 (10A) fuse.?
7.
Open wire check (+B EPS line):

Open wire check (+B EPS line)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the following connector.
EPS control unit connector A (2P)

?3.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
EPS control unit connector A (2P): disconnected
 
EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected

EPS control unit connector A (2P) No. 2
Test point 2
Body ground

Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
The +B EPS wire is OK. Go to step 8.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the EPS motor/control unit and the No. A2-1 (70A) fuse.?

Open wire check (GND line):

Open wire check (GND line)

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
EPS control unit connector A (2P): disconnected
 
EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected

EPS control unit connector A (2P) No. 1

Body ground

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 9.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the EPS motor/control unit and body ground (G304).?
9.
Open wire check (F-CAN_H, F-CAN_L lines):

Open wire check (F-CAN_H, F-CAN_L lines)

Disconnect the following connector.
Gauge control module connector A (32P)

?2.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
EPS control unit connector A (2P): disconnected
 
EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
 
Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
Test point 1
EPS control unit connector B (6P) No. 3
Test point 2
Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 19


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The F-CAN_H and F-CAN_L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the EPS control unit connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the EPS motor/control unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the EPS motor/control unit .?
