EPS Motor/Control Unit Removal and Installation

NOTE: Do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign materials to enter the steering gearbox.

3. Power Steering Heat Shield - Remove


4. Connectors (EPS Motor) - Disconnect


5. EPS Motor/Control Unit - Remove

If necessary, remove the rubber bush (A) and motor bush (B).

2.
Remove the O-ring (C).


NOTE: Do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign materials to enter the steering gearbox.

1. EPS Motor/Control Unit - Install

Apply steering grease to the new O-ring (A).

2.
If the rubber bush (B) and motor bush (C) removed, apply steering grease to the rubber bush and motor bush, then install them to the EPS motor/control unit (D).

NOTE: Check the rubber bush and motor bush for damage and cracks. If the rubber bush and motor bush is cracked, replace the rubber bush and motor bush.

3.
Install the O-ring to the EPS motor/control unit.

Install the EPS motor/control unit.

3. Power Steering Heat Shield - Install

1.
Loosely install the heat shield (A), then tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown.

5. EPS Control Unit Software - Check

1.
Make sure the EPS control unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the EPS control unit.
